Suggest Remedy For Radiating Pain Near The Butocks

MRI spine should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your mother's symptoms and they are suggestive of nerve compression in the lumbar region (lower back). This may happen due to bulging of discs located between the vertebrae, or due to fracture of vertebra (back bone). This condition is commonly called as sciatica or disc prolapse.
MRI of lumbo-sacral spine should be done to confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment would depend on the findings of MRI (medical treatment, physiotherapy, epidural injection and surgery are the options).
I hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,

thank you for the prompt response. I would like to know if it is feasible for my mother to continue with the above mentioned medication, or should she initiate the process of mri scan. her condition is such that now her thigh muscle especially on the right hand side on which she fell has become stiff to such an exten that she cannot sit and have her meals let alone walkingto the washing room. the doctor said that for the pain to subside it will take 3 - 4 weeks.
Better to proceed for MRI.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
I would think it is better to proceed for the MRI scan, so that we can find out the underlying cause of her pain and symptoms. Current medications may be continued until we get the report.
Best wishes,
