Hello,
My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & I will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There could be a number of causes for your complaint. I would be in a better position to guide you if you answer following questions please:
1. Is anyone else in the family also having similar complaint?
2. Did it start after taking some particular food or after going to bed?
3. Are you allergic to some food?
4. Did such problem occur in past?
5. Do you have diabetes, hypertension or any other illness?
6. Are you on any medication?
7. Is there appearance of rash as well? If yes, then please upload an image of the rash on top right corner.
8. Are you on any kind of medication?
I will be looking forward for the answers to conclude the discussion in the best interest of yours.
Thank You
I am not allergic to any foods, and never had problems before. In August I did have a problem with Chiggers after visiting my son in XXXXXXX and floating the Yampa river. I have no diebetes, or any illnesses. I do not take any medication and there is no rash.
Just for your info, I was in Cancun Mexico the first week in December.
Most probably urticaria (allergic response)
Detailed Answer:
Hello
thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. In my opinion there is high possibility that its because of allergic response to some food (sushi) or insect bite. Allergic response manifests like this. It normally resolves by itself in 5-7 days. May prolong or decrease(varies from body to body). If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:
- cetirizine one at night for 5 days.
- avoid food that aggravates itch. In your case it could be sushi
- thoroughly clean your bedding for removing the possibility of dust/insect.
- avoid scratching the area else it might leave scar.
Conclusion:
Allergic response takes some time to resolve completely. Antihistamine(cetirizine) will reduce the itch. You need not to worry. Hopefully you will recover in 5-7 days. if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
