Suggest Remedy For Redness And Sensitivity Around Ears And Eyes Caused By Severe Body Rashes

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: For 11 days, I've had a rash that started out very much like hives. The bumps that would indicate hives have disappeared, but the skin on my whole body is red and very sensitive - especially around my eyes and ears. I went to my family doctor where I saw his physician's assistant. She prescribed a course of prednisone that I concluded with today. I've also been achy off and on for the eleven days and my energy level is low. I'm thinking it's likely a virus rather than alleges, but the duration of this situation has me uneasy and concerned about my over all health. I'll be 52 years old in a few weeks and I haven't changed anything in my diet other than I ate a large portion of lentils the same day I was noticing my first itchy symptoms. At first, the hair follicles on my face tingled sharply and then even my upper lip had "goosebumps." They've gone away, but like the rest of my skin, they are chapped and sensitive. I've been using aquaphylic to help with the dryness, but I'm still feeling uneasy about the duration of this situation.

Brief Answer:
Allergic response possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hi My Dear Sir

Welcome.

I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Dermatologist.

I have noted your history and to me it appears to be an hypersensitivity or allergic response to food items.

I would suggest the following, if you were to present in person, as these steps work in nearly all of my patients:

1 Avoidance of steroids unless there is a breathing difficulty or a problem with deglutition.

2 Have anti allergics like LEVOCETIRIZINE 5 mg a day. The dose can be upscaled. It might cause drowsiness but that will eventually pass off.

3 Cimetidine or any H2 antihistamines to supplement effects of above

4 Betamethasone cream twice a day and moisturizers as often as needed

5 Protection from sun and extreme climatic conditions

6 Simple diet, no alcohol, no known allergy causing drug or triggering factor known to you.

It might take some time before the symptoms settle.

Please let me know if there is anything else with which I can help you recover fast.

Our best wishes
