Posted on Mon, 4 Jan 2016
Question: hi,
I am suffering from runny nose and constant sneezing.
I don't know what is causing the allergy but a few things are uncommon;
my house has molds on the wooden cabinet.
I have recently had nasal bone realignment.

Brief Answer:
Allergic Rhinitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The symptoms are consistent with Allergic Rhinitis.

2. Allergy is not altered by nasal bone correction. Kindly give some details as to why the surgery was done.

3. If you are not on medication, allergy tests such as AllergoSPT and AllergoDip will help you detect the molds and other allergens that you are allergic to.

4. If you are on medication you should ideally take an antihistamine, an antileukotriene, steroid nasal sprays and medicated gargles. In addition, steam inhalation and saline nasal washes should help.

5. Desensitisation to molds is also possible.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

I shall go for such test. just to add, earlier like 2 week ago i used to have sneezing and runny nose only in my molds infected room but now it suddenly starts anywhere and literally anytime. another thing is when i went to home(in raipur) i had a little fever but after a day or two i had no problem, XXXXXXX is hot place, also in XXXXXXX i am usually not exposed to sun, and I checked that even in XXXXXXX i feel very normal under sun.

Brief Answer:
Proceed with the tests since you are off medication.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. The internal healing after the surgery should be more or less complete by now.

2. Since the allergy has become more frequent, it is time to test for the allergens.

3. Warmer, dry climates are not suitable for mold and fungal growth.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
