Brief Answer:
Quite possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and understand the concern.

From the facts you have posted here,I will say yes,it it quite possible that you may suffer pain over lower abdomen or upper part of legs or sometimes lower back pain when you have to push hard to defecate or you can say excess straining at stools because when you push hard constantly it strains your abdominal muscles which in turn causes pain intermittently and also ,when you try to relax it hurts a lot.

Therefore,do not strain too much or try to push for short periods of time and then relax, and only when it feels like it's going to come out.

Also take excess dietary fibers and drink excess of water throughout the day.

Continue your IBS treatment as per your doctor's prescription and dietary advice.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip
