Brief answer....yes,you would need THYRONORM life long
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
After the surgery fro goitre, one needs supplement of thyroxine hormone and is required to be given for rest of life. From time to time, dosage may differ but you would need it lifelong.
You need to monitor your T3 t4 and TSH levels every 4-6 months.
Since your TSH level is at 1.61 level,it is pretty controlled now.
If you stop taking it you will develop features of hypothyroidism like tiredness, fatigue, weight gain, constipation etc and in severe cases even heart problems also.So keep taking your THYRONORM regularly and keep checking your thyroid function tests.
As far as fall of hair is concerned,I would like you to get following investigations done..
Iron studies
Serum calcium levels
Serum VIT D and VIT B12 levels.
Above mentioned deficiencies can also result in fall of hair.
Get your BP,cholesterol levels as well as heart check up by a cardiologist also done since you are complaining of breatless XXXXXXX and giddiness.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Hello,
Seen your reports.
They are all normal except the fact that your calcium levels in 2010 were on lower border.
Since THYRONORM also results in lowering of calcium,I would advise you to definitely get all the investigations done as advised by me.
Your prescription has vitcofol ( it has iron in it ) and aqua sol A which has VIT A in it.
You keep taking them.
Thanks

Hello,
Iron studies include serum  iron levels,TIBC,transferrin, ferritin levels and determine the current actual iron levels of body. There is no report like that in your attachment.
Lipid profile is normal. AQUASOL A and VITCOFOL has to be taken as per advice of your treating doctor.
Thanks
