Question : Doctor , I have severe itches on my legs. 2 Areas impacted are the places just above my foot (below the place where I put on my socks) and my Calfs. I have taken few pictures of both the impacted areas and can send them to you if needed. The places cause severe itching during the summers (due to moisture) and in winters due to dryness of the skin. Please advice.

I am Dr. Kakkar , I have gone through your query. I have also seen the images

This is eczematous dermatitis or discoid dermatitis. The patches are more commonly seen in those who have a dry skin.

I would suggest that you use an intensive moisturizer twice daily over this area.

Specifically for the patches you can use a potent topical steroid e.g clobetasol propionate cream(Tenovate cream) , twice daily.

An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine would provide you symptomatic relief from itching
