Question : Hi doctor,

I am 30 yrs old. I feel unbearable pain while having sexual intercourse and I think my hymen is still intact. Is it possible to get pregnant if I opt for IUI? Also is this treatment possible under Anesthesia? Since I think it would be too painful for me otherwise. Is surgical removal of hymen needed before going for IUI? Please suggest.

I understand your concerns about pain.

IUI can be done under anesthesia to prevent pain. Even hymen can be removed with minor procedure under anesthesia.

You can try using KY jelly during sexual intercourse to prevent pain while performing sexual intercourse.
