Question : I am having sharp pain in my upper arm, especially if I try to lift anything, even light weight things. I do have osteoarthritis and wonder if this could be the problem, or a pinched nerve?

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be osteoarthritis or frozen shoulder.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the upper arm can be due to osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder or shoulder impingement syndrome. Exact diagnosis needs a direct examination by an orthopedician and investigations like MRI scan. Till then continue with mild pain killers and local gel and avoid all painful and overhead movements.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
