Suggest Remedy For Sinus Infection, Bronchitis And Eye Pain

Question: Yes, I have had multiple symptoms that began in September with sinus infections, bronchitis, flu etc. I consistently had severe pain in my left nostril and cheek and eye pain. Eventually by Christmas, after a series of five antibiotics and steroid treatments for my asthma...I suddenly had severe pain bilaterally below the knee. It felt like bone pain. Quickly the entire leg was in pain involving muscle and bone. I went to the er and they said it was the Cipro I had been taking. Not convinced my primary care doctor referred my to pulmonologist and rheumatologist. I had also been experience intense fatigue and shortness of breath. Many test have come up normal. Very healthy. Now, the pain has moved to my arms and neck. The pain now included zap like shocks all over. My neck feels like someone is choking me and it is hard to speak, my voice sounds different. I went back to the er and they referred me to a neurologist now but I have to wait 2 months. My level of functioning has decreased dramatically as well as my mobility over the past two months. I was a runner and now am using a wheelchair as needed. Any ideas?

I have carefully gone through your problems. The source of your pain and other shock like sensations seems to be your spine. I would strongly insist that you visit a neurologist after getting a MRI of spine (cervical as well as thoracolumbar) done. Your neurologist could also evaluate whether you have a demyelinating disease like multiple sclerosis which could have a presentations like yours. Multiple sclerosis is a disease where the myelin sheath or the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, gets affected and so the spreading of the nerve impulses gets affected and gives rise to such symptoms including level of functioning and mobility.

Please see if you can reschedule your neurologist appointment to an earlier date. Although there is no known cure for multiple sclerosis, several therapies have proven helpful. The primary aims of therapy are returning function after an attack, preventing new attacks as well as prevention of disabilities.
