Question: My stomach hurts/burns really bad, my mouth keeps watering, feel like I want to vomit and my mouth keeps feeling up with saliva.
I recently had some cosmetic surgery done and the surgeon suggested some pain killer like Tylenol. I took them, but now the doctor change to Advil. I am a little constipated as well, my stools are not frequent and they are hard and dry. Please help mw with some advice. Really going nuts I am about to go to ER

Brief Answer:
some possibilities.

Detailed Answer:
Without an exam I cannot give information specific for your particular situation but I can give some general info.

Abdominal pain is quite a concern.

With any pain, the location and quality of it and associated symptoms can help localize the problem. Mouth watering, feeling like vomiting all point to overactive gastrointestinal tract. Advil can certainly irritate the stomach lining, and irritation generally also stimulates. So, advil induced stomach irritation or ulcer would be a concern. With pain, quite a concern. If pain is rapidly relieved with antacids or PRILOSEC. and the symptoms get fixed.. then... not much reason to go to the ER. And antacids often work in 20-30 minutes. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, if a symptom is REMOVED in 20-30 minutes and doesn't come back.. then... it's generally fixed.

thanks for answered my question I will try Prilosec later and I will stop Advil. I am concern about having an ulcer. Should I change my diet?

Brief Answer:
HIGHLY variable effects of diet on ulcer.

Detailed Answer:
Some things that you'd expect to irritate the stomach: cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine. Calcium is a stimulant of stomach secretion. And most people don't get stomach irritation from Any of them !

Some people find that acidic, spicey, jagged (ice, and hard candy), or overly hot or overly cold foods/drinks can be problems. Other people find that very large or hard things can be triggers (generally this is with irriation of the esophagus and not the stomach). Some pills (large ones or tetracycline especiallY) can be irritating to most people. But then, a lot of complaints don't make an obvious connection to stomach problems but people still find that particular (unexpected) foods can cause irriyation in them.
