Question : I have unexplained pain that started on the top of my hand where the vein is. Noticed a slight lump the day before on the hand and rubbed it. Now tthe pain is worse and I can even feel it to the elbow

- Was there any insect bite?
- Was the slight lump that you observed yesterday was red?
- Is there any swelling of the hand/redness?
- Any other relevant information?
- Any medical problems like diabetes that you have?

Please post clear photographs; this helps for on-the-spot diagnosis sometimes.

The commonest causes are cellulitis spread due to virulent bacteria. The pain can be due to involvement of the nerve in the inflammatory process.
Same thing causing the referred pain in the elbow.
