Suggest Remedy For Sudden Weight Loss While On Diabetes Medicines

Question: I am recently diagnosed with diabeties type 2 and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Prescribed with following medicines - Concor, rozavel 20, melmet 1000 Sr and nervz.
I had viral fever once for 5 days and also had diarrhea once, in last 2 months.
I am on diet food and walk for 5 kms daily.
I had done my health check up in Sept 15 and all other reports are normal.
I was a heavy smoker for 20 years and so have got CT scan thorax also. The report is normal. Though I have continuous smoking cough.
The problem is, I have lost sudden weight of 6 kgs in last 2 months. This has happened after the diagnosis of my problems, start of medication, change is food style and walking.
What could be the reasons for sudden weight loss and what test should I undergo now?
I am 44 years old, height is 5'10" and my weight is 76kgs which used to 82kgs around 2 months back.
I am dead worried about this and the issue is killing me as my doctor did not give any convincing reply.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to diabetes
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
I have gone carefully through your query. The first thing that I would need to ask is whether you have checked the blood HbA1c level. If not, get it checked and share the reports with me. The second thing to ask is the blood sugar level and the medicine you have been prescribed for the same. The final thing to ask is for the blood TSH level.
Diabetes can cause rapid weight loss as in your case. Thyroid problems can also contribute to the problem. I will wait for your response since that would help me to answer your question properly.
Regards

TSH - 0.78. Complete health check up was done in Sept 15 followed by multiple test there after wrt HCM, diabeties, chest, thyroid, Harmone etc . Details of your queries are attached herewith. Please refer to attachment. 6 kgs weight loss in less than 2 months is giving me nightmares.and I am under tremendous pressure.
Brief Answer:
You need to relax.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have gone through the attachment. Indeed diabetes seems to be the cause of your weight loss. The excessive anxiety as well as the diarrhea have had a contributory role to play. I would insist you not to panic. You are already leading a healthy lifestyle excess for the unnecessary stress factor. Eliminating stress and anxiety should make a difference.
I would insist you to wait and observe. If the weight loss stops, you have nothing to worry. If it does not, you need to get a Mantoux test done to rule out tuberculosis as a possible cause.
