Question : Two weeks ago my daughter scraped the skin off the back of her ankle, she refuses to go see a doctor and now her ankle is swollen and reddish. She cannot take off work but she has cleaned it and kept it medicated and covered.

Traumatic edema and infection in the abrasions created from scraping of the back of the ankle,has made her to remain off from her work.
Suggestions-for your health problem-
Rest to the ankle
Elevation of the oedematous ankle
Dress the abrasions with sterile ready dressing with Neosporin -aseptically after dettol cleaning daily/or every 2 days time if need be.
Tab Advil 400 mgm 1x 2 times per day
Tab Tylenol 500 mg 1 x 3 time a day x 5 days
Tab Oflox 200 mgm x 1 x 2 times a day x 5 days to prevent infection. You will need a prescription for this, so please consult your doctor for the same.
Tab Zincovit 1 x 10 days time for fast wound healing.
Important Alert-
Inj TT from your doctor as soon as possible-which you must take to avoid the risk of the preventable deadly disease.
If this does not heal up in next 10 day time,consult a doctor/ surgeon who would treat it accordingly.
