Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Face And Nausea Caused By Concussion

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Nov 2015
Question: Fell face down two nights ago. Hard and it hurt. Yesterday am, I initially felt fine, but then felt nauseated around noon. Was evaluated by an MD for concussion protocol. Said I may have indeed suffered a concussion. Face is still swollen today. Kept waking up last night. Feel a little better today but am staying home from work. Slightly nauseated now. Hardly any appetite. Taking Ibuprofen. Your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Brain imaging to exclude more serious conditions, needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

If you were my patient, then i would have recommended you to have a CT scan of the head done.

This because of the possible fractures of the face bones and in order to evaluate/exclude any brain injury such hemorrhagic contusion, or delayed brain hematomas, since there was a violent hit.

Don't get me wrong, these conditions are very unlikely to be found in your case, but still a small possibility exists since the symptoms are persisting.

These issues should be discussed with your primary care Doctor.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
