Brief Answer:
Diabetic neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It looks like my suspicion was correct. Nerves of the feet have got affected because of long standing diabetes. It is quite common in diabetics, here is what your should do

1. Make sure that your diabetes is under good control. Aim for a HbA1C below 6.5
2. Loose weight. Exercise daily for a minimum of 30 min. Walking and swimming are the best exercises for you
3. Always wear diabetic slippers from now on. You should wear diabetic slippers even at home
4. Tab Pregabalin 75 at night will reduce the numbness and prevent further damage. Please approach a neurologist before taking this
5. To rule out other causes please get a Vit b12 level done, Vit b 12 deficiency also causes peripheral neuropathy.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Taken for life

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

1. You will have to take them for atleast 2 years sometimes even for lifelong. It keeps your nerves safe
2. Next check up will be for diabetes. Keep seeking help from your endocrinologist and make sure that your sugars are under good control. Visit every month
3. Black marks on your feet are permanent. Kojic acid cream will reduce the marks
4. Do not use pregabalin with the prescribed medicine

I hope I was of help

Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. It was a very busy day at the hospital.

Drowsiness is because of the Gabantin. It is known to cause drownisess. It will subside in 2 weeks. Please continue to take it. keep yourself active by walking and doing activities. Coffee will help too
