Question : Hi, I had a ward on my left middle finger. I continued to poke at it, until it got infected. I went to the doctor and took antibiotics for two weeks, the redness and infection went away. However, the top part of my finger is a little swollen, it does not hurt, it is not hot, it is a little red, but feels uncomfortable because I cannot bend it all the way. I am getting married in three months, and feel apprehensive about needing surgery or it getting worse. I made an appointment with a Rheumatologist, but will not be able to see him for three weeks, any advice is appreciated. Thank youXXXX.

Possible tendinous panaritium
Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome.
it doesn't sound very serious but in some cases it may be infection of deeper finger tissues called tendinous panaritium. in this case you should see plastic surgeon or hand specialist for further treatment. wish you good health. regards
