Suggest Remedy For Tingling And Numbness On Foot

Question: About a year ago, I missed a stair coming downstairs in my house and fell. I landed on my left foot and hurt it. The pain was pretty bad. When I tried to get up I would get light headed and about pass out. After a time I was able to get up. I went to the ER. When I got there I was cold and shaking a lot. An x-ray was taken. The ER doctor felt the foot was broken. I was fitted with a temporary cast. Two days later I saw an orthopedic doctor and he said it was not broken, he told me to put a shoe on it and walk. I am still having problems with the foot. The bone on the top of the foot sticks up some but the main issue I am having is the foot swells and hurts. It also has a tingling or numbness feeling to it. The pain starts in the arch of my foot towards the heel and goes over the top of the foot in between the toes and bone at the top of the foot. The main numbness is on the bottom of my foot. I like to walk - a lot, but am finding it is painful to walk other than day-to-day walking. I am 52 years old; 5 ft 6" and weight 145 lbs.
