Question : I had a miscarriage a week ago when I was 8 weeks pregnant and I'm still bleeding from it, what worries me is that I have just found a large, hard and tender to touch lump in my right breast up towards the armpit. Is it possibly just due to hormone changes or something or is that unlikely? I'm 35 and have a history of breast cancer in the family so I'm worried

Hi,

I understand your concerns that breast lump.

This lump is likely to be due to hormonal changes. These are likely to go away by themselves. Generally I don't advice further evaluation in women who don't have history of breast cancer.

In your situation, I think it's better to get mammogram done to differentiate it from cancer as you have family history of breast cancer. That is the safest way to decide.
