Question : Dr. XXXXXXX Brown, I am out of town, 500 miles ftom home. I spent last night vomiting. running just over 100 temp. no pain in lower stomach or cyst area but discomfort and nausea in upper stonach.
is this likely to be related to my large ovarian cyst or more probably a virus? endoscopic hysterectomy scheduled Weds.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and i am sorry that you are feeling sick,

I think your symptoms are unlikely related to your cyst... that would be more lower abdominal pain and cramping and not so much vomiting.

I think there was most likely something something you are in the last few days that made you sick...

Usually those kinds of symptoms will disappear within 24 hours. If your pain gets much worse overnight and moves lower in your abdomen it is more concerning, but your cyst also would not cause a fever.

I think it is most likely food poisoning or something similar in which case it should go away by itself in 24 hours or so. Let me know if anything gets worse and I hope you feel better!
