Brief Answer:
You need a workup, have detailed it below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Yes, having a period continuously for so long is not normal at all.
You should be having a workup done.
The causes could include - a polyp, fibroid, thickening of the lining of the uterus ( endometrial hyperplasia ), flaring up of your endometriosis , a cervical lesion.
The causes, as you can see, are varied.
Only thorough investigations can tell you what is wrong.
You should be consulting a Specialist OB - GYN, and getting the following done as soon as possible -
1. Internal evaluation - per vaginum and per speculum.
2. Pap smear.
3. Pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan.
4. Hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH.
This workup would reveal a diagnosis.
Please get it done at the earliest, and do not ignore bleeding that has been going on for so long.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
