Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (39 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
slow reduction or burenorphine substitution

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Oxycodone is an opiate group of drug. It is used as pain killer in severe pain.
When someone is taking it more than 3 months it requires gradual tapering. Stopping cold turkey or fast reduction of dose may cause withdrawals like fever, bodyache, muscle ache, watering of eyes and nose, diarrhea, yawning, fever, anxiety, sleep disturbance.
It should be reduced very slowly. If someone wants fast tapering buprenorphine substitution will help.

You are taking 30 mg oxycodone daily. I recommend 5 mg reduction in dose every week to avoid significant withdrawal. Or else you can stop cold turkey and can take burenoprhine for short duration. You need to ask your doctor for second option.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Brief Answer:
burenorphine is strict prescription drug

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. Davidson,

Thanks for follow up and sorry for delayed response.

You are taking 120 mg per day. In that case you need to reduce 15 mg every week until 60 mg then 10 mg per week until 30 mg and then as mentioned above in previous answer.

Buprenorphine is an opiate group of drug. This drug comes under narcotic substances all over the world. To sell or purchase without license is illegal. You need valid legal prescription of a doctor if you want to purchase the same. I f I were your treating doctor I would like to start the same. However sorry for the limitation that online prescription is not valid.

Please consult treating doctor for buprenoprhine or to refill the oxycodone.

Take care and feel free to discuss further.
