Question: doctor, my girlfriend missed her 1st period n pregnancy test shows positive. how to avoid it?

Hello

I understand your concerns about pregnancy of your girlfriend.

Pregnancy could have been avoided if you had used adequate protection like condoms or emergency contraceptive pills.

Since pregnancy has occurred you can only terminate if you both wish by consulting a registered gynecologist.

Before that you need an ultrasound scan to confirm it is viable intrauterine pregnancy and not ectopic pregnancy.

Ultrasound scan will also determine period of gestation.

After these reports you can consult a gynecologist who can decide upon mode of pregnancy termination.
