My mother recently underwent a laproscopic procedure for the removal of the gall bladder.
Macronodular changes in liver were noted during laproscopy. Routine lft shows normal results. What further diagnostic procedures other than biopsy should be done to rule out onset of cirrhosis.

Brief Answer:
Biopsy is the gold standard testing for cirrhosis...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
The gold standard testing to detect cirrhosis include liver biopsy. However, further tests are advised including:
- protein electrophoresis
- blood albumin level
- prothrombin level
- viral markers
Once again, the final word is given by biopsy.
Hope it answered to your queries!
