Question : my friend had a miscarriage July 14 a chemical one ...her and her husband tried again starting the 19th and on after she got the ok that every thing was passed through from her doctor now it's Aug 15 she tested negative pregnancy test Aug 10 to make sure her hcg levels were down when should she test for new pregnancy or how would she know if she's pregnant Again because she wouldn't know her last period

Though it is unusual to conceive in the very next cycle after an abortion, be it chemical, should conception happen in this cycle, it is too early to test through a HPT.

An estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres now can give a clarification. A better idea can be had by checking the serial titres; if pregnant and things are going well, the titres double every 2-3 days. Else, the titres decline.

A trans-vaginal sonogram may be done after a week to clarify the situation. If she did not conceive, she may see a normal period in about a week.
