how long does a response usually take?

My nephew was prescribed 4 mg of Klonopin and was put on it for four years without any change of dosage in that time or follow up recommended by a specialist for his diagnosis.

Would it be appropriate for us to ask the prescribing physician the reason ?

Now that He has gone off the medication, he is 100% better. However he has now in a custody battle for visitation of his children due to the long term effects this medicine caused.

I appreciate any "professional" opinion I could obtain from Web MD.

Absolutely yes. You can ask the prescribing physician about the reason why your nephew was prescribed klonopin for so long.

In my opinion and clinical experience, there are ni long term effects of klonopin which can bar a person to meet his children, if the person has taken the drug as per prescription, successfully stopped the drug and is doing well now.
