Question : I am taking Lexapro and have been for 12 year I'm taking 20 mg for the last year . 've ususally been on 10 or 15. No sunshine in my brain could I be taking too strong of a dose.

Your internist should be very capable of prescribing an antidepressant. As far as dosing goes, if you were previously stable on 10mg or 15mg, 20mg may be too high for you. Sometimes at higher doses side effects outweigh benefits, so trying a smaller dose would be a reasonable thing here. If a lower dose doesn't work, you may need to be switched to a different antidepressant like Zoloft.
