Question : My son, aged 2 years and 9 months, is having loose motions. He weights 12 kilograms. I have metrogyl syrup at home (Metronidazole Oral Suspension). I'd like to know how much I should give him (how many ml), for how many days and how many times a day.

Can understand your problem.

Antibiotic should not be prescribed without examination by a doctor.

In my opinion, you should give prebiotic like enterogermina ampule once a day for 3 days. Zinc syrup like zincolife or zn20 should be given in dosage of 2.5 ml twice a day for 3 days,
Also you should start ORS Solution to the child. This should take care of the problem.

If no improvement in 24 hours, then examination by pediatrician is mandatory.
