Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Synthroid

Question : My long-standing endocrinologist had a horrible car accident and cannot practice any longer. I am about to run out of .137 synthroid and; although I found another endocrinologist, they cannot see me until September 2nd. I need a new script, or I have old .112 and ,125's. Can I use them up in the meantime. And how would I adjust them? Regards.

I can certainly understand your concern.

In the meantime till September you can absolutely go with Synthyroid 125 mcg as a suitable alternative to 137mcg.

This substitution is relatively very safe at the moment.

Later after consulting your new physician, get a complete thyroid profile test and adjust the new dosage accordingly.
