Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Trazodone Taken For Anxiety

Question : I have been taking Trazodone 200 mg tablets for about a year now. Before that, I was only on 100 mg but my doctor said I could increase it to another tablet if I want which I did so now I am on the present 200mg. Recently I have been only taking 100 mg instead of the 200mg and I am starting to experience withdrawal symptoms. I have increased anxiety, shakiness and insomnia. I am so scared! Did I go down way too fast? I am also on Lexapro 20 mg and I also take gabapentin 300 mg 3x a day. What would you recommend I do, I am terrified!!! Thank you! XXXXXXX

I am sorry to hear that your are having some anxiety and shakiness from reducing your trazodone. I think you reduced your dose too quickly. I would recommend reducing by only 50 mg. So start taking 150m for 1 week then reduce to 100. You should not have any withdrawals or other side effects while reducing your dose. These effects are not dangerous and should resolve quickly

Thank you so much for answering my question. Tonight I will take 150 mg by cutting one of the tablets in half. Hopefully by doing this I will feel much better. XXXXXXX
