Question : I have a 2yr old her middle right finger is red and puffey and she is gonna lose her finger nail. Should I take her to the doctors.
Brief Answer:
she is having paronychia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Your daughter seems to be having paronychia or nail infection.
She needs a course of oral antibiotic and antiinflammatory drug to control infection. She should also dip her hand in warm water and apply a topical antibiotic cream daily.
A trauma or possibly nail biting damaging the cuticle could have led to such infection.
You definitely need to consult a dermatologist nearby
Hope this helped.
