Question: My wife was diagnosed today with alzheimers, is anything available other than Nemenda and Donzipri(Arecipt) that might help her, I currently have her in a nursing home.

Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history please note :-
1)For Mild to moderate case medications are given Cholinesterase inhibitors like DONEPEZIL,RIVASTIGMINE and GALANTAMINE
2)For moderate to severe cases NMDA antagonist (Nameda,NamedaXR) is given with donepezil as approved by FDA
3)For severe cases RIVASTIGMINE TRASDERMAL PATCH is given
4)Other medications which are given is symptomatic only like a)anxiolytics for anxiety and agitation,b) neuroleptics for delusions or hallucinations, and c)antidepressants or mood stabilizers for mood disorders
5)AD patients should be given a multivitamin caps every day with vitamin B-12
6)Please talk with your treating doctor to add caprylidene (Axona) which is a prescription medical food for all AD patients.
7)Make a plan for physical and mental exercise
