Question : Hello , l was dx with Bell's Palsy , am actually on acyclovir 800mg 5 times a day
But lhad yesterday a shot of corticoid and got some relief at my left side of my neck pain
I was also prescribed w/tegretol 200 mgs bid , is it posible to increasse this drug to tid?

Hi, thanks for your query. It si better to have carbamazepine Tablet 200 mg bd. Yes u can increase the dose but it may cause extra pyramidal side effects like gi intolerance, giddiness, tremors. Hence twice a day is sufficient. Steroid injection will have a synergic effect. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
