Brief Answer:
I differ in my opinion.

Detailed Answer:
I have gone through your data and I am sorry to learn about your health

First of all let me tell you that I differ from the opinion given to you.

Generally, patients with CMT have very slow progression. Patients with CMT those who rapidly deteriorate should undergo evaluation to exclude co-existent other causes which can result in a rapid down hill course. One of the most common causes are inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. This can be verified by two tests
1. Nerve conduction test (I hope that you may be knowing about this test as you are already diagnosed to have CMT)
2. Lumbar puncture and cerebrospinal protein analysis.
These two tests must be done in your case and if these two tests are positive, you will immensely benefit with medications like steroid and /or other immunotherepy.

In addition, other problems which can make a patient with CMT worse are uncontrolled diabetes, electrolyte imbalance, vitamin B12 and vitamin D deficiency.

So, you need not worry with the classical notion that nothing can be done.

Please let me know in case you need any clarification

Best wishes
