Question: I am having a number of the symptoms of Chrones disease. I have had a colonoscopy done as well as a gastroscopy and the only thing they found was a h. hernia. My symptoms are continuing and worsening. What do you suggest what my next move should be? I am also HIV positive since 1986.
My family doctor has provided no medication for my problem. Some of my symptoms are: Painfull stomach, Painfull lower intestine, Constipation turning to diarrea overnight. No appetite, and I am always nauseated.

Brief Answer:
Consider IBS as a possibility and discuss with your Doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I have read and understood your history and problems related to painful stomach, painful lower intestines, alternating constipation and diarrhea, no appetite, nausea - Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy - Hiatus Hernia - HIV positive status since 1986 -

Crohn's is not possible as colonoscopy would have shown it.

I would advise you the following:
Re-consult your Doctor, discuss about further investigations and management on the following lines.
Routine tests of blood, urine and stool.
CT scan of the abdomen.
If all the tests are negative, we should consider the possibility of IBS- Irritable Bowel Syndrome and / or intolerance to some foods and / or beverages.
Avoid all the foods and beverages which either instigate or enhance your problems.
Stress and Anxiety: I hope you would agree with me about the role of stress and anxiety and have to be tackled properly.
Probiotics may help in a long term.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask relevant further queries if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
