Suggest Treatment For ED While On Atorvastatin And Losartan

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Jan 2017
Question: I am 70 years old. I take several medications due to a previous heart attack and cardiac arrest with slight heart muscle damage. Atorvastatin 80mg, clopidgrel sulfate 75mg, losartan 25mg, carvedilol 25mg (Carevedilol twice daily). Of course the end result is ED. I also take viagra 100mg but lately it seems to be hit or miss. I lose my firmness and erection several minutes after getting it. I have tried Levitra and Stendra with the same results. Whatcan I do ? Is it risky to take more than 100mg of Viagra?

Brief Answer:
Taking more dose of viagra will be dangerous, carvedilol can be decreased

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, the most culprit drug appears to be carvedalol, as it can cause erectile dysfunction. I can understand the history of heart disease, it can't be stopped but you are taking it in quite some dose. You can discus with your cardiologist as decreasing the dose may be an option.

Other medications like viagra can't be increased as it's already very risky with so many anti hypertensive and history of heart disease. I think your cardiologist won't be much happy with it either. You can try using supplements for B12, calcium, D3 and folic acid as though aging is irreversible cause but any underlying micronutrients defficiencies may be corrected and that will help with a sustained erection.

Also getting sessions with sexual therapists like motivational psychologists may help with developing concentration and sustained erection and modify sexual practices to increase pleasure and hence erection.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards
