Question : Hello Doctor, I was dating this girl and we broke up about 6 months ago we had unprotected sex and a while after I noticed this red spot on the glans of my penis which you can see in the picture i attached to this message. I also noticed these small red bumps around the same area. I sometimes have some slight discomfort but it doesnt hurt allbthe time. Im a type one diabedic that is pretty well controlled. Ive been looking at pictures online but cant find anything that looks the same. Is this an std or just a normal skin condition that can be treated or will eventually heal on its own?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be Fordyce spots, doesn't look like a std
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it seems to be Fordyce spots.
These are ectopic oil glands.
It is a physiological condition and no need to worry.
It doesn't look like any STD.
It has been seen that it disappears spontaneously in some individuals.
