Lorazepam can make gerd worse by relaxing the muscles that prevent reflux into the esophagus. You don't have to stop the prescribed lorazepam, here is what you should do
1. make sure to have your dinner at least 2 hours before sleeping
2. keep your head end slightly elevated by keeping to pillows
3. do not drink anything containing caffeine in the evening
5. avoid alcohol
