Question : Hello Doc,

For the past one year, I am facing a unique problem. I feel my left side of neck seems tensed and it shakes. I am unable to concentrate in a single head position for too long. Infact I can only remain constant for few seconds. This uncomfortness allows me to shake my head or move it. If I do it, I feel my face get tight and it seems shaking. Very uncomfortable. I am unable to do concentrate. It is affecting my life and work activities.

I am having GERD and an anxious stressed person. Only left side is affected.

done my cervical spine MRI and it was slight spondylitis with degenerative changes. According to तो the Neurologist, the report is ok. My arms pain a lot these days.

Please help me.

Brief Answer:
Can be anxiety or degenerative changes of spine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The tensed neck muscles and shaking of the head can be related to anxiety or a mild nerve root compression due to degenerative neck changes. The pain in the arm can be related to neck muscle spasm.
The symptoms can improve with a good anti anxiety agent with a low day time sedation and an oral muscle relaxant. Starting proper physiotherapy exercises - cervical isometric exercises to maintain the tone of neck muscles under the guidance of a proficient physiotherapist will also help.
I hope this answers your query.
