Brief Answer:
Thyroid gland swelling

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Are we talking about thyroid swelling in the neck by GALGUND? This technically called GOITRE in medical science.

Goitre is complication resulting from swelling of thyroid gland because of its overactivity or underactivity. Most often doctors go for surgery to reduce the sweling followed by medication depending on the thyroid activity.

So NODARD PLUS does not help. Instead I suggest you to see a General surgeon who can tell you the best way to manage Goitre.

Hope this answers.

Thanks Doctor, But its not goitre. Its behind my jaw and near to lower part of the right hand ear.

Its called "mumps".

So is there any medicine for this. It pains whenever I try to eat and this pain results into fever when the mumps sustains for 1-2 days. That is why I am taking pain killers (Nodard plus). I had done a treatment of mumps in my childhood. The then doctor has given me 10-15 lemon piices to chew one after the other so that one vein inside the mouth at the backside gets opened. He had given an injection in the vein so opened. But he informed me that I will face this problem of mumps less frequently after that. In my childhood the frequency of mumps was almost every month. Now I face this problem during winter season that to if I drink something very cold or it icecream or even a very citrus fruit which is very sour. Regards

Brief Answer:
Mumps need good antiinflammatory

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You can use COMBIFLAM tablet thrice a day whenever you have swelling and pain. The recurrence of mumps is uncommon in adults as the parotid duct gets widened. I suggest you to avoid cold food, icecream and soar as it can increase the secretions in the parotid duct and thus blocks it again. If it is blocked the gland swells and pains.

For now hot fomentation on the swelling five times a day and COMBIFLAM, oral tablet after meal should do the trick for you. This available freely in any pharmacy. Also you need a lot of water up to 3 litres per day to flush out the parotids. Rest is very crucial and you should not walk out of home as it can aggravated with other germs.

Hope this serves.
