I recently had a pap smear. I read in the internet that HPV can be transmitted through medical equipaments as well. Can you please advise

Hello and welcome to HCM.Thanks for writing in to us with your health concerns. I can completely understand your concerns regarding this issue.HOV can be transmitted via fomites means by touching infected materials . Technically it can happen through medical instruments but only if they are not properly sterilised. But any Doctor who is performing Paps smear takes care to properly sanitize his or her instruments.
