You have Hepatitis C since last 14 years and just 4 moths back you have started taking Adderall given by a friend. Your problems of poor concentration, low energy improve with Adderall.

Adderall is amphetamine drug, the drug is known to produce tolerance and has abuse potential. As you are taking the drug and it is causing significant improvement but with time you may develop tolerance to its actions and you will have to take higher doses to get good action. In this way you will be compelled to progressively increase the doses of Adderall and ultimately you will have difficulty in getting the drug. As for now you are getting the drug from friend what ultimately you will have to procure it without prescription so I would not advise you to take the drug without prescription.

I would in-fact suggest you to visit a psychiatrist and explain about your illness and the symptoms like poor concentration, lack of focus you are having. Such symptoms are occurring due to mild depression because of associated severe medical illness. Instead of Adderall there are other drugs that can be used in your symptoms and don't have abuse potential like Modafinil, Armodafinil. Both of these drugs improve day time alertness, improves focus and energy levels and help in improving symptoms. You can discuss with your doctor for that drugs if they don't prescribe Adderall. Both these drugs are free of abuse potential and have good actions and you will not develop tolerance to actions of these drugs.

First of all I would like to apologise but I didn't mean that you are having depression but lack of energy and lack of focus can present in mild form of depression. Associated chronic illness also increases risk.

Now coming to Adderall, I am not considering you as an addict, you could easily procure the Adderall illegally but I was just mentioning that taking Adderall makes any one tolerant with time and higher doses are needed to get good effect. The drug is not the treatment for poor energy or focus. The drug result in symptomatic relief only. This is what I experience in my clinic.

Even then if you are taking the drug on SOS basis then it would not cause much harm, regular continuous use usually results in development of tolerance. The drug is a wonder drug but it is associated with some side effects and most common being development of tolerance. I have suggested two drugs in my last answer, and this doesnt mean that I know what will work for you, both of these drugs are free of any tolerance potential and works almost similar to Adderall and are safe to use even for long term on regular basis. Still as the drug has worked for you, you can take the drug with proper prescription because without prescription drugs are not totally pure and may consist of adulterants.
