Brief Answer:
there are medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
IBS is complicated and sometimes you need to try many things to get relief.
Dietary changes can be helpful especially getting rid of sodas, high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. Avoiding dairy and beans can help.
There are also medications called antispasmodics that can help with the cramping and gas symptoms.
In some patients taking a regular fiber supplement like psyllium is also helpful.
Adding a probiotic daily and a multivitamin may be helpful.
Regular exercise and drinking 6-8 glasses of water daily can be helpful.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
