Suggest Treatment For IBS With Severe Abdominal And Chest Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Jun 2016
Question: I have IBS and had endometriosis in the past along with Fibroid Tumors and Ovarian Cysts. About 2 1/2 years ago I started experiencing pain in the chest right in the middle just below my breasts. I did have a gall bladder attack and then surgery to remove. However the pain has not gone away and has increased. I am also experiencing severe pain throughout my entire abdomen. At times, it is so severe that my blood pressure goes up. I do still have a number of problems in the stomach area from my IBS, fluctuating from severe diarrhea to constipation. I have had x-rays and ultra sound and a breath test but no results as of yet? Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Suspecting the pains to be related to IBS itself ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would lile you to know that I am here to help. The pain being described by you is quite typical for IBS. Pain at the side of the abdomen, typically in the region of the ribs is commonly associated to and seen with IBS.

As you described the pain to be present below your breasts, this location also matches that of IBS. I also wouldn't be surprised if your IBS is not well controlled, and if you also exhibit symptoms of diarrhea or constipation when these pains present.

I would recommend treatment of the IBS episodes and also educating yourself on IBS trigger foods and drinks, because I am guessing your abdominal pains are most likely linked to your dietary intake which is not being accepted by your IBS-affected digestive system, thus resulting in the pain.

Being an IBS-sufferer myself, I am sure of what you are describing. Please do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Thank you. I have changed my diet and drinks to help alleviate some of my IBS symptons and although they seemed to have worked for awhile, some days it does not seem to matter what I eat or drink and still suffer from lots of pain. Not sure what else is possible?

Brief Answer:
Could be stress-related if you feel it has nothing to do with food or drink

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

If what you eat and/or drink does not make a difference, then it could be stress-related, do you feel you are stresses?

Best wishes.
