                                            Question : I have been advised to take probiotics and not sure which ones are best. Many many on the market. My doctor says I have IBS and I have had abdominal problems all year. I can't have any dairy based products. Please make a recommendation.

                                    Brief Answer:
Probiotics=strains of Lactobacillus...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If IBS is confirmed (i.e. no other organic problems were noted in your bowels), then, probiotics will help you stabilize intestinal flora, thus, betterment of digestion will be seen together with improvement in bowel movements.
Usually, probiotics are living microorganisms inside the GI tract. The market probiotics advised are those brands containing strains of Lactobacillus.
Naturally, yogurt and kefir also contain millions of Lactobacilli inside.
Hope it helped!
