Question : Sir my wife has pcos and are trying to concieve from past 2 years. Already had one ectopic and 4 failed clomid cycles.This cycle again on clomid and hmg 15 day USG report Rt ovary 22,21.7,18,16mm. Lt ovary 24,20.6,18,16 doctor has given lupride 2mg last night.should we try naturally instead of IUI and IVF in this cycle also also is it safe to have intercourse 12 hr after lupride injection

Also sir since there are multiple mature follicles will there be any complications risk.I have read on internet that lupride inj traces can be present in fluid/urine and thus could harm just wanted to be sure

Sir in previous two cycles hcg inj was given but in this cycle lupride is given for ovulation induction. Does it makes any difference in chances of conception. Are there any extra medications required after lupride since it down regulates. Also is it a normal practice to use lupride for ovulation induction for pcos patients

Lupride is better for you

Hi,

Lupride is given to prevent chances of OHSS when suspected as Inj. hCG is known to cause OHSS and problems associated with it.

There is no much difference in conception as ovulation is achieved by both.

Only progesterone support will be required in more quantity when you take lupride. Hence start Duphaston 10 mg twice a day after 2 days of receiving the lupride Inj.

Lupride is better in your situation as there is possibility of OHSS. Keep me informed about what is happening so that I can help you in future also.

Sir we have got IUI done on 25th as on 25th morning usg report one follicle was ruptured and on 26th USG report all follicles have ruptured and also have mild fluid in POD.my wife has started taking duphaston 10 mg twice a day from 26th. However she is having nausea and severe constipation from past 5 days. What tablet should she take for constipation as bowel movement has completely stopped from past 4 days and is very discomforting

Hi

Constipation is common during this period as there is increased progesterone hormone from the body as well as from duphaston.

I suggest let her drink lot of water and eat more vegetables. This generally resolves constipation.

If very uncomfortable she can take 2 tablets dulcolax at night to relieve of constipation.
