Question : I think I have had a UTI for a few weeks. I have self medicated with amoxicillin and the symptoms had subsided, but now they seem to be back. Suddenly tonight, in the past two hours, I have some swelling in my knee any injury without any injury to explain it. Is it possible the two are related? If not, any guesses as to what might be causing the swelling?
Brief Answer:
yrs swelling may occur due to UTI
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have read your query.
yes swelling in knee can be effusion due infection.
infection can spread due to UTI.
This can lead to septic knee effusion.
Another possibility of monoarticular rheumatoid synovitis leading to swelling.
clinical examination and blood investigation like CBC, ESR, CRP.RA TEST will help you.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
