Question : I was recently diagnosed with a UTI. If untreated it could have gone to my kidneys and caused a lot of problems. I cannot remember the name of it but it was one I thought I would never get. Could you mention a few different causes/symptoms to me so I can try and remember the name? THANK YOU

Brief Answer: Nephritis, pyelonephritis, renal calculi, hydronep Detailed Answer: Hi, I went through your query and understood your concerns. UTI spreading to kidney and may cause nephritis, pyelonephritis, renal or ureteric calculi and hydronephrosis. These are few common causes that may occur due to UTI. Symptoms are pain and tenderness in the flank region with fever, and usually with frequent, urgent and/or painful urination. Nausea and vomiting may be present. If untrated sepsis can happen (if bacteria enter the bloodstream from the kidney) in the most severe form of pyelonephritis. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Regards
