Question: I previously asked a question regarding my test results for creatinine and GFR. My GFR went from 61 to 39 in just 6 weeks. I asked if this can happen as rapidly as indicated and did get an answer, but I would like to include my lab results for your consideration. I will send them as an attachment. I can't get in to see my doctor until Jul 27 and am quite worried. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query and test reports. Your test reports show that you have infection in urinary tract or kidney. Yes, your GFR decreases suddenly showing that you have some pathology in Kidney(Nephropathy) and it is confirmed by increased level of Serum Creatinine.
Since you are hypertensive, infection in kidney is causing excess damage. I would suggest you to consult a local nephrologist for clinical examination and further investigations. Waiting till end of july is not advised.

Antibiotics may be started by your doctor to tackle the infection and your Blood pressure will be monitored. Diuretics can also be added to your prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
