Posted on Thu, 13 Oct 2016
Question: I have a blockage in left main upper. Last year it was 70 % blocked. Lately I have more chest pain and CHF is getting worse. I have had 5 bypasses and five scents already in last 12 years. Now instead of surgery they recommend Hospice? Why? I have dystolic hf, copd, epilepsy and sleep apnea. According to HF score I am class I've in activities. VERY little brings on chest pain. However, on an ultra sound my EFraction is 55. Why can't I have a stent or surgery?
Where would I go for another opinion?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

First of all you should discus with your doctor why he is refusing to do again surgery.

You should know that redoing surgery may be not available in many patients due to lack of venous and arterial grafts who were used for the first BYPASS surgery.

Since they have used 5 veins and arteries for the first bypass you may haven't any veins or arteries for the new bypass.

Secondly if the answer isn't satisfactory you may go to another hospital for a second opinion.

Wish you health!
